Elevation Certificate

Elevation Certificate

Elevation Certificate and Letter of Map Amendments (LOMA)

An Elevation Certificate is a standard FEMA form that is used to aid in determining the relationship of a parcel of land to the established base flood elevation.  It can be used to obtain, or document whether Flood Insurance is needed.  It is typical to provide the client with an Elevation Certificate, and if the data reveals that the parcel of land is above the base flood elevation, then proceed with a Letter of Map Amendments (LOMA), which is a formal request to FEMA to remove the parcel or structures thereon from the floodplain.
